Medical Training

Dr. Conor Kiely was educated at Presentation Brothers College, Cork and did his undergraduate medical training at University College Cork and Cork University Hospital. He graduated as a medical doctor in 1983. Following graduation he trained as a hospital doctor in general surgery and general medicine. In 1985 Dr. Kiely was awarded a Diploma in Obstetrics and a Diploma in Child Health from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. For the following 3 years he worked in General Practice and in 1988 he was awarded membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in London. He returned to Ireland in 1989 where he continued to work in general practice.

Hair Transplant Surgery Specialisation

His interest in hair transplant surgery began in 1990 when he had a hair transplantation procedure carried out on himself. This prompted the development of his interest in hair transplant surgery and wishing to train with a world renowned hair transplant surgeon he travelled to the Seager Hair Institute in Toronto, Canada where he trained with the internationally recognised Dr. David Seager.
He continued to visit other centres of international excellence and worked with other world renowned hair transplantation surgeons such as Dr. Ron Shapiro, Minneapolis and Dr. Walter Unger, New York.

Membership of Professional Societies

• In 1997 he was the first Irish doctor to become a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons. In the same year he became an Associate member of the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons, The European Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons and a Licentiate of the Trichological Society of London.
• In 2004 Dr. Kiely became the only Irish doctor to be granted admission to full membership of the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons.
• Dr. Kiely was the first Hair Transplantation surgeon to introduce the Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) methods of transplantation into this country.
• As a highly experienced and respected practitioner in his field he is also involved in training and continuous medical education. He annually attends the world conferences of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons, and also workshops and seminars in the USA, Europe and Australia.

Today

Today Dr. Kiely is sole owner and medical director of one of the largest and most successful hair transplantation practices in this country. As the only Irish doctor with in excess of 15 years experience as a hands-on Hair Transplant surgeon he continues to be sought by patients from Ireland, Britain and mainland Europe. His clinic is dedicated exclusively to the medical and surgical treatment of hair loss.

Always dedicated to extending the boundaries of knowledge and the development of new concepts and ideas his expertise and knowledge on the lecture circuit is widely recognised. Such is Dr. Kiely's reputation in the Hair Transplantation field that many doctors and other medical practitioners have chosen him to carry out their Hair Transplantation surgery.

Dr.Kiely and his team regularly attend conferences and workshops worldwide. Dr.Kiely strongly believes this is the only way to share information with other doctors and to remain at the forefront of hair restoration surgery.
