Just a quick note to say how pleased I've been with the result of my surgery. It's been nearly a year since I had the procedure now and to say I'm more than pleased with the outcome would be an understatement. I was quite paranoid about going out in windy/rainy conditions and it also started to impact on the way I lived my everyday life but now I don't even think twice about it.

Just a little note on my progress so far .In march I had my procedure with yourself. Everything went very well. I was delighted with the result and it made a big difference to my hair! It is now a year later and I am glad to report that my hair has made staggering progress!!!!! I now have a full head of thick healthy hair!!!! The result has been far better than I expected. It really has!! My own GP was amazed when I dropped in to see him this week and commented that it was the the best result he has seen. I had been losing my hair for about seven years and it had been really getting me down. I spent a small fortune on lotions and potions to no avail whatsoever .I have been to two hair loss clinics and spent over 3000 euro again to no avail. The day I had a consultation with yourself changed everything!!! It is now twenty months since I walked into your office and I now have the same amount of hair I had 10 years ago!! I thought there was no hope for me but you and your staff (who were fantastic on both procedures!!!!) changed all that!!! Its a great feeling to run your fingers through a full head of hair again!!! The following are my thoughts and observations after having hair transplantation with yourself and your staff.

My initial consultation was relaxed and informative. The procedure was accurately described to me and all my questions were answered honestly. I felt under no pressure to proceed with treatments beyond my own keen desire to do so. I had done extensive research beforehand and had even travelled to Finland to meet a leading transplant surgeon. When I met Dr. Kiely I immediately recognised his extensive knowledge and professionalism. I knew I was making the right decision in choosing him as a surgeon.

The procedure itself was carried out in very relaxed and pleasant surroundings, with a very able, kind, good humoured and skilled staff assisting Dr. Kiely. As I remember I was so relaxed during the first procedure I actually fell asleep for a time.

Follow up instructions were very clear and all medicines were supplied. Dr. Kiely was always just a phone call away if needed - but no complications ever arose.

I would highly recommend Dr. Kiely and his staff to anyone serious about hair transplant. I have enjoyed a great improvement to the appearance of my hair and have found the procedure to be an entirely positive one.

Dear Conor,

I write to let you know how pleased I am with the two hair transplant procedures that you have done for me, the first in October 2003, and the second, just three weeks ago. To say that I am pleased to have gone ahead with the procedure would be an understatement. I am absolutely thrilled.

While for me it is a private matter, and only a few of my closest friends were aware that I went for the procedure, I would like to offer my story in the hope that it will encourage other men to avail of this wonderful opportunity to again have a fuller and healthy head of hair. Part of me would love to stop guys on the street and say 'do you know how easy it is to get a hair transplant', another part of me wants to remain private about it.

I am in my early forties, very fit and healthy. Up until the last few years I have had a full and healthy head of hair which I took so for granted. Over the past few years my hairline began to recede. I had never been so conscious of my hair until I started loosing it. Yes, losing my hair did hammer my personal confidence. With the break up of a long term relationship some time ago, I now found myself dating again and so incredibly conscious of my receding hairline.

Before going in to Dr Kiely¹s Clinic for my first transplant procedure I have to say that I was somewhat apprehensive about what I had left myself in for. But the only thing that surprised me was the simplicity of the procedure and the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere in the clinic. The local anaesthetic relaxed my scalp as Dr Kiely performed the transplant. As I watched TV and chatted to one of the attendant nurses, I felt so delighted at the ease of the whole procedure, which lasted about four hours.

Dr Kiely organised a private hotel room in a local hotel which I went to immediately after the procedure. I left the clinic with written instructions about how to treat my scalp for the following days to allow the transplanted hair to take a firm root. Next day I had taken the day off work and relaxed. That evening I put on a baseball cap, met friends for dinner no one suspected a thing. Dr Kiely telephoned me on a number of occasions to check that everything was ok, which it was.

To my delight my own hair which had been lifted from the back of my head and transplanted in the front, began to grow back within a few weeks. This, I understand from Dr Kiely's expertise, is an exceptionally fast re growth which I believe may have been helped by the fact that I am very active in sports and eat healthy foods. It took a few months for my transplanted hair to grow to the same length as the rest of my hair but what a delight to run my fingers through hair on the front of my head again. My hairline has returned to its original position.

Just recently I returned to Dr. Kiely for a second procedure, to further thicken the hair in the front of my head. This time I had absolutely no fear of the procedure as I knew the drill. Everything went so smoothly.

God bless the patience of Dr Kiely and his medical assistants who painstakingly took about 1,000 hair follicles each procedure, and transplanted them one-by-one. In my business I have reason to critically assess customer care. In the case of both hair transplant procedures that Dr Kiely and his medical team performed on me, I would like to say that I have seldom, if ever been treated so well, and in such a caring way by any service industry professionals. Dr Kiely and his team are a credit to their profession.

Prior to my first consultation my expectations were quite low. However in the weeks following the operation I was delighted at the obvious improvement, so much so that I booked another appointment and I now find that my hair is as close to normal as I could ever have expected. I would strongly advise anybody with hair loss problems to seriously consider this procedure.

I had considered the procedure for a long time and I had done a lot of research on it and I found the initial consultation with the doctor very informative and put me very much at ease.

The procedure, apart from initial injections of local anaesthetic was quite painless. The staff were very professional and concerned for my welfare. I found the follow-up instructions were given orally and in writing and were clear and precise. It was a comfort to know that the doctor was only a phone call away if I had any problems.

I found that after about a week little or no sign remained of the operation. Even my closest friends have not realised that I have had the procedure done. Overall I have achieved an excellent head of hair which is a great boost to my self esteem and confidence.

I had hair transplantation carried out by Dr. Kiely and his team during 2002. Prior to this I have had four procedures carried out in two of the main Dublin Clinics. Generally my experience in the Dublin Clinics were unsatisfactory. The procedures were very severe, painful, sometimes quite unprofessional, and more importantly yielded poor results. The transplants which did grow left me with very unnatural looking growth.

I found Dr. Kiely's setup much better. His technique is much less severe, his team friendly and professional, making the experience a lot more bearable. The hair transplantation has left me with a better, more natural hairline.

For the benefit of anybody considering hair transplant I would like to share the following, my own personal experience. I was very cautious regarding this procedure due to a bad experience prior to meeting Dr. Kiely. My hair had just started thinning and I was anxious to do something before it got too noticeable. After a number of 'pushy' consultations, at another clinic, I was convinced to have hair replacement. The procedure was not explained. At this stage I still had a reasonable head of hair.

At the clinic the top of my head, from front to back was shaved clean, coated with adhesive (which was quite hot and uncomfortable). A hair piece was placed on top of this glue and this was the new look. When I looked in the mirror I was devastated. This hairpiece was just so artificial. When my hair was shaved off I thought it was in preparation for hair transplant. It cost me £3,000 and months of mental and physical anguish, waiting for my own hair to grow back after removing the hairpiece.

About two years later and after a number of consultations with other clinics, I met Dr. Kiely and I felt very much at ease at the initial consultation. Everything was explained very clearly. Details of results were backed up with 'before' and 'after' photos. I was told realistically what to expect after one, two or more treatments. I was left with no doubt as to what to expect as every detail of the procedure was explained to me. I was offered time to think about it and to call back when I was ready. A few weeks later I was back at the clinic for a further consultation at which time further alternative treatments and side effects were explained properly. I decided to go ahead with the procedure.

On the day of the procedure Dr. Kiely and his team made me feel comfortable and their professionalism made me feel very confident. Dr. Kiely and his team were able to explain at the different stages exactly what was happening. They were most attentive to my needs. For me the procedure was completely painless, but Dr. Kiely would always alert me as to when I may expect some discomfort. Afterwards I was not rushed from the clinic, instead I was given plenty of time to recover.

The post operative instructions were very clear, detailed and easy to understand. Dr. Kiely gave me his surgery phone number and his mobile number and even a hospital number should I need same. Also on leaving the surgery I was given a supply of medication including pain killers to relieve soreness during the first few days, but this quickly disappears. Then it is first a case of waiting for a few weeks for the magic of seeing the new hair growing. Dr. Kiely is very re-assuring about confidentiality and I can say I never met another patient before or after the clinic.
